It has been a wonderful Easter weekend at the Wilson house, minus a few meltdowns. Started off the weekend with an amazing Good Friday service at church hosted by our student ministry. Saturday included alot of outdoor fun, dyeing easter eggs and was finished off with some sweet fellowship with our dear friend Madison....I just love sitting around the table and talking about what the Lord is doing in students' lives!
Onto Easter morning! If anyone knows me, I truly struggle with my flying solo Sunday morning routine. I try to plan outfits the night before, get up at a decent hour and attempt to be at church on time. I use the word "on time" very loosely. I always have these great intentions but there is ALWAYS a roadblock! For example this morning I woke up and was super excited about Parker's first Easter and Anna Kate wearing her adorable new smocked dress but apparently Parker wasn't too excited about his first Easter nor was Anna Kate about her new smocked dress! I dressed Anna Kate and she informed me she didn't like the dress (hello, two year old!) and she wanted a princess dress. Then I "hurt" her head while fixing and flipping out her hair. By this time Parker was pitching a royal fit and after changing him, feeding him, putting orajel on his gums, i came to the conclusion that he was ready for his morning nap?! Why does my "every day but Sunday" laid back baby decide to flip out every Sunday morning. Not to mention all this was after I tried on my new Easter dress, decided I didn't like it and picked out some 10 year old outfit to wear.
Finally, we are all off to church and as I open the door to the van, I smell something, not too thrilling. Anna Kate had a peepee accident on the way home yesterday and I forgot to take out her carseat and clean her chair last night....AND forgot to leave the windows down. FABULOUS!!! After arriving to church "only" 15 minutes late, I dropped the kiddos off at the nursery, took a deep breath and got ready to worship. But - it's not about me, my schedule, 599,999 pet peeves, dresses, dirty carseats and flipping out children. This morning was about Him and the worship this weekend has been amazing from the Good Friday service to celebrating his resurrection this morning.
Happy Easter!
